National Career Education

National Career Education programs include Medical Assistant, Medical Biller/Coder/Office Assistant, Optical/Optometric Assistant, Lab Assistant, and EKG Technician/Phlebotomist.
Medical Assistant program graduates will be ready to assist physicians in medical office examinations and perform basic laboratory skills and procedures. Monitoring, recording, and mounting electrocardiograms will be a part of their job. In the office, medical assistants will perform administrative tasks including record management, bookkeeping, insurance, appointment scheduling, and medical practice management.
Medical Biller/Coder/Office Assistant prepares graduates to work in entry-level Medical Biller or Coder which includes the task of assigning codes to diagnosis and procedure and uses various software programs to prepare and process medical claims for physicians, patients, and insurance carriers.
Optical/Optometric Assistant program prepares students for a career in Optometric Assistant or Optician where they will test patients for depth perception, visual acuity, and color blindness including the use of precision optical instruments and lens-edging machines.
Lab Assistant, EKG Technician/Phlebotomist program prepares students in performing several laboratory procedures in bacteriology, urinalysis, hematology, electrocardiography, phlebotomy, and vital signs. Graduates will obtain appropriate communication skills and be CPR certified.
Externships are included in all of the programs offered by National Career Education. Externships are conducted at an approved site upon completion of the required coursework and these provide students with actual work surroundings to apply the skills they learned in the classroom.
